Privacy Policy
This policy describes what Vieques Worx collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Effective 22 September 2026
The short version
We collect what the app needs to connect a worker with an employer, and nothing to sell. There is no advertising on Vieques Worx, no tracking across other websites, and your information is not sold or rented to anybody.
What we collect
- Your account — A username, a display name, and — if you give them — a phone number and email address. There is no password: see “How you sign in”.
- A worker profile — What you choose to put in it: a headline, your experience, when you can work, the kinds of work you want, your skills, how you get to work, the pay you would prefer, and optionally a photo and a résumé.
- An employer profile — The business name, its category, a contact name, a phone number and email address, a public description, and the information you give us so an administrator can verify the business is real.
- Applications and messages — Which jobs you applied to, the status of each application, and the messages exchanged inside an application.
- Notification devices — If you turn on notifications, an address your device can be reached at. It is not tied to anything else about you.
- Technical records — Errors the app reports, an audit log of administrative actions, and the country your request came from. Not your IP address, and not your precise location.
How you sign in
Vieques Worx uses passkeys. You sign in with your device — Face ID, Touch ID, a fingerprint, or your device’s unlock code — and we never see any of them. There is no password to store, to leak, or to reuse somewhere else.
What we hold is a public key your device gave us. It can verify that you signed in; it cannot be used to sign in as you.
What other people can see
- When you apply to a job — That employer sees a copy of your profile as it stood at the moment you applied. Later edits do not change what they already received.
- Browsing — Employers can find your profile by browsing only if you leave “Let employers find me” switched on. Turning it off does not hide you from an employer you have applied to.
- Messages — A conversation belongs to one application and is visible to you and to the people who act for that business. Administrators cannot browse conversations; if a message is reported, they see the reported message.
- Job postings — A published job and the business that posted it are public — anyone can read them without an account.
Where it lives
On Cloudflare’s infrastructure, in a database and file storage belonging to this application. Cloudflare processes it on our behalf and does not use it for anything else.
Translation. Each account has one language, English or Spanish. When someone writes to you in the other language, the text of their message, job posting or service ad is sent to Cloudflare’s Workers AI, only to be translated into yours. We keep the translated text in our database next to the original so it is not translated twice. It is machine translation and can be wrong; the original is one tap away.
If you receive a text or WhatsApp message from Vieques Worx, Twilio delivers it. They see the phone number and the message in order to deliver it.
A push notification carries no private content. It wakes your device, and the app then asks us what to show over a connection you are already signed in to.
How long we keep it
Your account and profile for as long as the account exists. Applications and their history for as long as the job posting exists, because they are the record of a hiring decision. Errors and administrative logs for a rolling period and then they are deleted.
Your choices
- See it — Everything we hold about you is visible in the app, under Profile.
- Correct it — Edit your profile at any time.
- Stop being found — Turn off “Let employers find me”.
- Stop notifications — Turn them off in the app, or in your device settings.
- Delete everything — See the account deletion page. It is permanent and it does not require asking us.
Children
Vieques Worx is for people old enough to work. It is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who can see it, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect — not quietly, and not only by updating the date at the top of this page.
Who to ask
Vieques Worx is run by Quentin Forgues, in Vieques, Puerto Rico. Write to hola@viequesworx.com with any question about this policy or about your information, and we will answer.
